Faculty Membership Application Procedure

The ISG aims to integrate genomics research, education and outreach across UConn and Jackson Laboratory campuses and affiliated teaching hospitals. The advantages of joining the ISG include participation in seed/pilot grant programs, the ISG-affiliated Ph.D. program, networking events and the implementation of the UConn academic plan and strategic priorities in all sub-disciplines in genetics, genomics and personalized medicine. In addition, ISG members may have preferred access to certain core facilities and the opportunity to sponsor/invite speakers for joint ISG/UConn/JAX seminars.

Applicants should submit:

  • a 2-to-3-page biosketch (NSF, USDA or NIH format is acceptable)
  • a short paragraph (no more than 5 sentences) summarizing either your utilization of genomics data/applications in your research or your expertise in genetics/genomics or a related discipline (e.g. ELSI, population genetics, etc) if this is included in your biosketch, no additional paragraph is required
  • an acknowledgment that you will abide by the expectations for membership.
